Weburbia presents the oldest computer game.
It is not known when the beasty game was first played but it was certainly around on computers in the 1960s. It was probably invented by an student as a basic example of artificial intelligence to demonstrate how a computer can learn. The program used a sequence of yes/no questions in a binary tree to try and find out what animal the player had guessed. If the computer did not guess the right answer, then it would ask the player to enter a question to help refine its ability to work it out. That question would then be added to the tree.
