Comments: I was saddened to hear about Jacques-Yves Cousteau. He was and will always be one of the last great explorers, teacher, mentor, and hero. I used to watch all of his programs. He took me to places that I only dreamed of and still do. I had the honor a couple of months ago to go to a lecture that Jean-Michael Cousteau held, I felt so privilaged to be there. What a truly dignified and wonderful person. I felt that at that time, this is as close as I could ever get to Jacques Cousteau. The world has lost a treasure! There are so few great people that make such an impact in the world, and Jacques-Yves Cousteau was #1 on my list. He lived a life that most of us only dream about. I'm sure that there were rough days but the good outweighed the bad. But, what a life! I hope that his work will go on, and the younger generation takes over. Maybe there is someone out there that has his spirit, and drive to continue... My thoughts and prayers are with the Cousteau family. I love listening to him, there was something about his voice. I'm sure everyone else felt it. How could you not. MAGICAL SIMPLY MAGICAL!

Comments: I was up late checking on the world news this last Sunday of June 1997...when I read about J. Cousteau's death earlier this week. I only found-out this information here, and not on the local news that I watch religiously. It saddens me greatly to hear of this great loss to society in J. Cousteau's death. It was his specials on PBS channel 11 in Chicago that made me aware of the wealth of oppoertunites open to mankind in our oceans and seas...if only we take protective measures to prevent it's destruction and abuse. The oceans are our last great frontier on this planet...we should learn from Cousteau and work hard to make our government(s) listen to his message to preserve these Eden's On Earth for the many future generations to come. Perhaps someday soon, I know we will eventually, we will find another planet or planets to inhabit, but until we do we must learn all we can about this one, and preserve the lush abundance of life that God has given to us here. I would like to hear from anyone who shares in this vision for the future given to us by J. Cousteau, and I would also like to help in whatever way I can in the preservation of the World's Oceans and the World in general. Please contact me at my Web site when it opens in late July 97' or E-Mail me with your comments or info at above E-Mail address.:)

Comments: Connected following leads from the "Joseph Newman Energy Machine," after seeing a special on that perpetual motion machine on A&E. I'm a retired economist and am interested in why there are so many conspiracy theories these days. Also wonder why there is such a rise in superstition in the past decade. Whatever happened to rationality while I wasn't looking? The Newman "free" energy machine seems to be a scam, but they did have a link here.

Comments: I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the world for its loss of a great explorer, environmental protector and teacher. It was Jacques work and dedication to the natural wonders of this planet that he instilled in me 'his' love for our world and a wish to preserve it for prosperity. To me, he was the only true teacher in my life and I looked up to him with awe and affection during childhood and will remember him in this light to the day I die. We will miss him dearly. Happy sailing Jacques-Yves Cousteau

I wish I had know about this site PRIOR to his leaving us. I have watched every presentation my hero ever made that was made available to me. Thanks to him, I became, for a time, a professional diver- one of the greatest experiences of my life. I shall carry Jacques' dreams and goals with me throughout the rest of my life, hopefully in some small way assisting to help him reach them vicariously. Again, I am greatly saddened to learn of this event. Best Regards, Dave Salyer

Comments: Jacques-Yves Cousteau brought us all a rich knowledge about the diverse eco-systems beneath the earths surface. We all are living a legacy this wonderful man brought up from the depths of his soul as well as from beneath the sea. His passion and love of the environment,as well as his deep understanding of the extremely delicate balance which exists between all living things on this planet, made him a wonderful spokesman on behalf of all of nature. His dedication and resolve have proven to be gifts to all of us who have turned on the television set, only to find ourselves diving with whales, sharks, or observing an ancient debris field from sunken ships, lost or forgotten until Jacques-Yves brought them back to life again, if only for the moment, to share the plight of the human spirit captured by the sea. I have many memories that I would have never had, if it were not for Jacques-Yves love of the sea. He was gracious enough to bring us the wonders that one could only imagine without the ability to breathe underwater. I will always treasure the episode that took us so deep beneath the water, to see an iridescent sea creature so beautiful and delicate, floating and swirling, flying seemingly playing for the camera. That particular episode was so powerful for me because it seemed to fly in the face of conventional wisdom, and brazen conceit humans share with one another. It made me realize we are only but a cog. Thank you Jacques-Yves Cousteau, your gifts to humanity will live on, in time immortal. ^^^^^^^^^ > ^^^^^^^ Carolyn Herring

Comments: Just a short note to say how sad I feel today that Jacque Coustou passed away. His TV specials during the 1960's and 70's were enjoyed by our family. I remember how my father enjoyed watching them. I just lost my beloved father this past October, and those memories are being replayed in my head as I write this. What a wonderful innocent time that was. Mr. Coustou had a special gift in telling stories, and had a mystical way of transporting each and every one of us so that we to were actually out to sea with him and exploring the wonders of the oceans and the romance of exploring new discoveries. Dear Mr. Coustou, please say hello to my father for me and thank you for all the wonderfull memories you, your shipmates and the colypso has given me. God bless you. Sincerley, Robert A. Borlin

Jacques you opened my heart, mind and soul early in the 1980's to the plight of the dolphins, whales and seals and the importance of saving our precious oceans. How profoundly you touched my heart...how deeply your presence in my world will be missed. Today I cry tears for all those living creatures in our oceans and seas that will never be graced by your saving touch...2/3 of this world is made of water and every drop is the tears of those who mourn your passing today...not only we humans, but especially those who make those ocean of tears their home....rest in peace my great warrior--may God give you a mansion in Heaven by the seas and may every animal and mammal you ever saved by your cause be there to greet you will eternal passion and gratitude...from me and all those in the world you left behind..........OCEANS OF ETERNAL LOVE AND PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING.....XOX

Comments: It is as sad day today when we have to say goodbye to a man who showed our generation the beauty of the liquid World about us. Some of us find comfort in the belief that there is a part of humankind that exists and progresses eternally torwards its Creator, and that this world is a cage in which the Human Soul learns the lessons it needs to cope in the unumbered worlds of Spirit. What magnificent thing is Jacques Cousteau going to get up to in that world of the Spirit - unhindered by this physical body. We who are to follow will miss him. "O SON OF MAN! Thou art My dominion and My dominion perisheth not, wherefore fearest thou thy perishing? Thou art My light and My light shall never be extinguished, why dost thou dread extinction? Thou art My glory and My glory fadeth not; thou art My robe and My robe shall never be outworn. Abide then in thy love for Me, that thou mayest find Me in the realm of glory." Comments: I am very briefly on the net, but find many interesting things here. Your pages show great time and effort expended, good for you ! But you seem to have lost your job, not so good for you. I have been unemployed seven years, but am now seeking a compatible context for interaction with society. My advice - do not wait seven years, or any longer than strictly necessary. "Successful" interaction with society requires a willing suspension of disbelief. The longer you defer "successful" interaction, the more difficult that will become. Perhaps someday it will not be necessary to believe anything in order to interact "successfully". Until then - *fake* it. I considered various remarks on the content, but decided that no matter what I said, somebody would be capable of misinterpreting it. Also it seems likely that no matter what nonsense I might spout, somebody would be capable of believing it. This is similar to the situation faced when you are forced to use a defective compiler. Perhaps what society needs most is more attention to the communication protocols for interaction between human brains (language). I suppose that would produce a dependency tree of philosophy ->linguistics->software engineering->mathematics->physics or some such. It should be apparent that iterative/recursive development is required. Communication media such as the www may reduce the development cycle time enough to make progress apparent. On the other hand, it may reduce the signal to noise ratio to undetectable levels.....

We are 2 ex-students from a Master of Science course named Environmental Science and Protection, so you can see we like all animals and the whole environment of the whole planet. In our own small world we are trying to do our best to save the planet from polluting barbarians. Keep on going with informing all surfers about the work of J. Cousteau, he is an example to anyone who has got a great heart for the world and its beauties. greetings from Marco en Erna
